Not sure why, but every time I turn Facebook chat on, it just turns right back off again. Does that mean I may have entered details wrong?

Quite possibly. But it could also mean 'something's wrong with Facebook,' as periodically their XMPP server seems to develop indigestion.

Facebook doesn't really give horribly useful login error states. :P

Try the following:

1) Delete your Facebook account from Trillian completely.

2) Add it again and connect.

Does this fix the issue?
