Hi,
I'm a new Mac user (very new!) and a long-time Trillian for Windows users. I got Trillian for my Macbook Pro but it auto-logs me in and doesn't give me any options to manage account settings. In particular, how do I get each account to display to where it shows me if I have any new messages in that account? And is there a way, like on the Windows version, to have it auto-notify me with a pop-up of a new incoming email?
The tutorial/screen shots don't seem to match up with what I'm seeing on screen. Help?

Howdy, and welcome.
Couple things - don't expect the OSX client to be as feature complete as the win32 version because, well, it isn't. (LOL) We've only gone from alpha to beta just a couple months ago, even. Sparks moved it to beta because (I believe) it contained 'most' of the essential functionality/UI components and was relatively stable, not because it was feature complete.
That said, have you installed growl yet? It's sort of like a universal OSX notification system. Think of it like the goofy windows popups in your old 'tray' by the clock. A bunch of software (including firefox, trillian, etc.) use it.

Once you have that installed, relaunch trillian. There are options for yahoo/gmail accounts in the 'misc' tab for mail notifications..
Hope that helps

Awesome. I'll give it a try. I'm hoping they get the functionality closer to the Windows version soon. I LOVE Trillian, but I'm so used all the little bells and whistles that it was a rude awakening not to have them.

That's certainly the goal. As Trillian 5 converges more with the whole 'Core' architecture, it becomes easier to copy features into the OS X version. Of course, each comes with attendant design work to make sure things fit in on OS X.
