Hi everybody,

I have used Trillian (Windows version) for a long time, but I have switched to Mac and I don't understand in this version how metacontact works ? More precisely, how can I display them.

Thanks.

They're displayed by default. You can expand them by clicking the avatar of a selected contact if that's what you mean.

This was my trouble also in the beginning.

I've tried it before but it didn't work.

I've tried it before but it didn't work.

I've also had that issue. It seems like intermittently, I can click (or doubleclick) on a metacontact and have it expand or contract correctly, and other times, it won't.

This makes it extremely difficult to merge metacontacts, when needed -- you can't just drag and drop one onto another to merge them together, but neither can you always expand one to drop all of its subcontacts into the other.

It's a bit frustrating.

ETA:
For the record, I've tried this:

(click once to highlight, then again on the avatar to expand it a'la Windows, or else highlight the contact and hit the right arrow a'la normal OS X expansion) allows you to pick one of the subcontacts directly, just as on Windows.

The clicking twice thing is what I'd been trying above. There is no right arrow/triangle to click, as mentioned in the bug report. I've tried the right arrow on the keyboard, and this also only intermittently works on a per-metacontact basis. (If it works once on a metacontact, it will continue to work -- but it doesn't work for all metacontacts.)

I might be wrong, but if it works at all like it does in Windows, it is a single click to expand (not a double click) and you have to do it on the metacontact avatar, not their name...

Yup, that's exactly what I was doing. :) To help clarify a bit, my repro steps for that method of expansion:

1) View contact list
2) Find a contact I know to be a MetaContact (no other differentiation possible)
3) Click on MetaContact to highlight
4) Wait about a second
5) Click on MetaContact avatar/userpic

Results:
About 85% of the time, the MetaContact expands or contracts. The other 15% of the time, nothing happens on the second click.

Are you sure that clicking on the metacontact to highlight them is a necessary step? It isn't here for me.

Seems weird that it would only expand sometimes though...
