Make a plugin, this would be some thing most people would not want, and probally a annoyance issue too

I wouldn't expect anyone to make this plugin unless you're gonna make it yourself. I for one would find it extremely annoying. A better alternative imo would be to pop up a systray message giving the new song name, and have a keyboard shortcut that could do as you say (type "/music ..." in the current window or in all windows depending on how you set it up). Another option would be to send the message automatically without you having to visit each window and hit <enter> after "/music ..." was filled in.

To support this functionality, I'd prefer to do it by tying an mp3 plugin and an alias/scripting plugin together (one project I'm planning is a common interface for linking plugins together).

there is a really easy shortcut embeded into the plugin ctrl+; auto types in /music for you.

Hey that's kewl, didn't know that, although not like it is that difficult to type out /music lol. Although to be more specific if anyone didn't try that out, it shows the actual command "/me is listening to Artist - Song Title (headphones)" rather than putting "/music"

what would be really cool, is if you could have it put the name of the song in your AIM profile (maybe with a %song denoting it), then have it update it when the song changes..

on rival(jabber) you move your mouse over a speaker icon in the chat window and it pops up details of the song their listening to and if it's a steam their playing and you double click the speaker it connects winamp to that stream
