I'm currently writing a plugin which will display the name and medium of buddies signing on and off, and display the 1st message they send as a systray alert, just like msn does...
However i need some help with the stupid enumaration because there isn't a signon_t or something like that.
What code would you write to detect buddies signing on and off... use a timer???

Right now, it sucks, but to do it you need to set up a timer to enumerate through all contacts, and check the status. If it is "recent-online" or "recent-offline", do whatever code you need to do for them.

Don't forget to show their away message when it's set. I like to see what people set as their away message in my systray.

hmm every 2.post in this forums is about this MSN systray alerts.
Now just a question: On the Trillian Pro Page it says:
"Trillian Pro v1.0 also features full technical support, helping you to solve any problems you might have or even run some basic questions by the development team. The souped-up System Tray Alert window, which fades in and out on the bottom-right of your screen like magic, provides instant information of who's going online, details of the latest news headlines, or even which song you are playing right now."
So where is that feature?
Here is also a pic:

That feature, my friend, is not as good as the ones the plugin developers have been working on. The one Included in Pro 1.0 is simply an alert that you have to set for each individual buddy by right clicking on them in the contact list windows and choosing "set alert". However, you have to do this for every single buddy if you want to be alerted by systray when anyone signs on.. Then you have the annoyance of the little bell beside everyone's name, therefore you're forced to change the preferences to get rid of them... So basically, the plugin developers are trying to code a systray plugin to elimitane the need to set an alert for everyone, among other things, and just make them better overall :-)

And another thing, I don't know if its just my problem, but every time I close trillian or restart/turnoff my computer, the alerts are reset. I did select alerts for every single buddy, but it disappeard after re-opening trillian. Or maybe it was because i changed skins......

I beleive you have to click "Save alert" which is in the bottom left corner.

Ahhh yes, you're right. I've done this before but it wouldn't let me save for some reason. Said it didn't have anything to save, works now though. Thanks for reminding me. --Cerulean studios, trillian pro 2.0 better have an easier way for these msn-tray alert things!
