I've got a few ideas I thought I'd share.

1. A popup killer for the trillian minibrowser. :p

2. Some form of password protection for trillian. Allow me to elaborate: I usually leave Trillian on while I go to school down in the system tray. It would be nice if, when you clicked to reopen it, it asked for your password again. Then I wouldn't have to worry about family members impersonating me while I'm at school.

Thanks,

I don't think his 2nd idea is bad. I've requested it before but not in the form of a plugin. I need to get Trillian Pro. My request was to ask for a password after a set amount of minutes idle or away. I think this would be helpful because I sometimes go places and don't have time to close set things on the computer.

Set your screen saver to require a password. Under NT/2K/XP this will essentially lock the computer. Under XP you can set it to show the User logon screen and let other people login without shutting down your copy of Trillian, etc. :D

I set my trillian up to lock my pc when it goes to away mode, by making an event that launches "%windir%\System32\rundll32.exe user32.dll, LockWorkStation" then anytime my trillian goes away my pc is locked. This will only work under NT, 2k, and XP I think.

dapydork & cr0wbar,
this is a great idea but is seems that you are still thinking that everyone who uses trillian also completely owns the computer they are on. i can't lock up the computer because everyone in my household uses it and this is a big incovenience as opposed to them being prompted for a password and after a few unsuccessful attempts it will close the program or there could be a button to close it... i know, i know... i should just shut down trillian if i don't want people in my stuff.

I think this would be helpful because I sometimes go places and don't have time to close set things on the computer.

Actually, another user could sign into their account, but granted it all depends on the os you are using.

Ok I can see many good Uses for this plugin. and this would be great for people that. have many poeple using one computer buy say only one person uses chat.

take this for example:

You live with your mom and dad. your an only child and your an HS student(no shame for living at home ;)) well you go to work from say 6pm to 10pm, from this time you'd like to resive messages from your friends, GF, other family members, ect. However you've also trained your parents rather well on how to use a computer, so they have like e-mail accounts or www pages they go to, however they don't chat with anyone...now out of know where a message flys up from say oh...your GF, which is extreamly embarasing for say..oh your mother to see.

"locking" Trillian would be a good Solution, after X amount of time, all Windows are "hidden" and your Profile's password would be needed to access Trillian and restore those windows. or you can manualy "lock" Trillian. and then i guess the opt for shutting down trillian or logging in as anouther profile would be great too, though unless your using logging, you'd loose all your IM"s

I don't get why people leave Trillian on when they are not there for an extended period of time anyhow! If someone needs to contact me and I'm not online they send me an email. I'd much rather read email than a log of people sending me msgs.

obviously it wouldnt work for every medium, but i believe yahoo's offline messages would work for what you want... i think icq might support this too (not sure)... then you can be completely signed off and still recieve messages from your friends when you sign back on...

Well,

In Yahoo instant messanger/ICQ you can send messages to people that are not currently online. Therefore being logged in would not be necessary. Just double click thier offline name and send them a message using thier yahoo/ICQ profile.
