Is there a way to change the systray icon? I'm a former Miranda IM user and newly changed to Trillian.
I really like the stability of Trillian but I am a little disapointed in the skin flexibility in Trillian, there should be an easy way to change all the icons to any .ico file. Porhaps there should be a seperate Icons-bar options in the skins optionsbar? And some other useful options for more flexibility with the skins..
Is there any way or software to change icons and other settings?
I had repeated many times and this will never happen. The systray icon is part of the software identity. Unless we are giving out branded versions of Trillian, we will never change the systray icon. The systray icon is the only prominent symbol of Trillian on your Windows desktop if you have your contact list hidden. If a skinner askes for skinning systray icon, to me, it is equivalent to asking for skinning the splash screen, which is also equivalent to asking for skinning the About box. In other words, it is hacking the software and eradicating the identity of the software, thus vandalizing the honors that should belong to the development team. The systray icon can only be the official Trillian logos, and nothing else. When it gets to issues that can undermine the software identity, this is not debatable. Trillian is not comparable to Miranda because our designated levels of customizability are different. Winamp allows changing of systray icons but will always be confined to its own selections. Feel free to redirect people to this answer everytime when the request comes up. You can always edit the icons by opening up trillian.exe to reassure your complete governance over the software. It is not hard, for any people who customizes their desktop.

For Trillian Pro, there has been a plugin developed that will change the tray icon:
