I dislike the idea of setting up a discussion board. It does not work to make a sub-Trillian community. (If you have seen the other Trillian board, you should be able to realize that it wont work.)

For example, FAQ section is pointless. we want to create a mirror of FAQ or what? even newbies have question, they wont go to that FAQ. If they want technical support, why do we separate our human resources on two sites?

Or do you guys just want a 'Trillian Experts Board'? nah, i dont like making individual small communities. and it wont be an Experts Board, because i wont be there if this is the intention, not encouraging. Isolating a community is a bad idea

Making a German, Dutch or Scripting forum makes more sense, because there is no such thing here, and there will be discussions that have a different intention. But I cant understand the reason to allow discussions, or, to have a format of a discussion board, in a Tips & Tricks site.

What is preferred to be done is to simply collect all the tips and tricks, which will be much more useful than a discussion board, that will probably be messed up by posts and replies.

Why not set up something like http://www.tweakxp.com/ . A handy tidy searchable archive of tips, tricks and files is probably what most people want.

and kid i think segregating a community is bad too but hell if this board/site wont support Scripts someone had too

Yes your link says under construction, but your initial statement says, "hey yall check out the new tips and tricks and add ons board" which naturally means, check it out the board with tips and tricks and add ons.

So they do.

Anyways, these ppl are not stupid. It's quite mean to call them that.

Perhaps if your topic said, "Check out the layout of the new tricks and tips board, no content yet, coming though" then ppl may not have replied 'there is no tricks or tips' etc.

I do think it's a good idea, specially for a scripting forum and a tricks and tips forums, but a copy of the other forums here, I tend to agree with kid on that one.

Either way, it's not nice to call the ppl who replied to your thread stupid. It's rude.

I found out about Trillian's forums staraight away :P

Anyway, I was not aware that we were launching the forums. I was waiting for another few days until we did have everything sorted out, like graphics, forums filled with actual posts :) It was a total shock to find it laucnhed for me too, and I'm one of the admins!!!

Anyway, no point in hiding now....

8 total posts and all of them have been about these new boards. Did I miss a namechange somewhere?

It seems that if someone knew a bunch of tips and tricks they would have been shared here for at least a little while untill there were so many they needed their own forums.

Oh, and calling people stupid was a bad move. ;)

edit: one last thing..... You need to spell Trillian correctly in your profile. It's not "trillion"

I'm not a big fan of censorship, but that may become necessary to keep this message board pure of such temptations as other message boards. This is a great thing here, and I think people are starting to take it for granted. IMHO
