is there an easy way to change the way ur status icons behave?

All I really want to do is make it so that my offline and sign off icon's for aim are reversed. Is there an easy way to do that ?

Open the graphics in your favorite image editor and swap them.

but it looks like it's in a template of icons, not sure if i should modify that template, if they were individual files it would be easy i guess.

If it's a template, go ahead and modify it, just keep a backup copy. If it's in different files, swap their filenames.

I don't know the skin, so I can't tell you where it will be, but it's likely in a single image file. You could also modfiy the code quite easily, if you know what to look at - but I'm assuming you don't have any idea.

Probly there are 3 files;

On for:

-normal
-hoover
-selected

Modify them in all 3 and you're done
