Google/Jabber Orb/Icon Update?

Kid,

I thought at one point there were plans to modify either the Google or Jabber orb/icon so they don't match each other's lovely purple coloring. Is there an update on this, or should we just Bugzilla this until it gets resolved?

Zodiac's been stlalking me about the thread, and I figured since I couldn't find it - I'd save him the post count!

I thought it was interesting that the Minis have the new icons while the app still has the old ones :)

Icons are still in progress. Mini uses vector graphics (Flash) and the full icon set hasn't been finished yet or converted to PNG. They will be coming in a future build.

No. We (Cerulean Studios) can't bundle the original icons due to trademark issues; they are not our logos or marks to freely distribute.

In that case, will there be a icon-skinning program (similar to Packrat) that might work for Astra? I tried manually changing some of the artwork by myself, but some of the pixels are off and it messes the rest of it up.

If i remember correctly iconpacks were never full implemented into trillian. That's why packrat and the configurator had to be created. I believe they simply would edit the trillian.dtd file or something like that... I don't know.

I'm sure by the time astra hits beta or is released that tom will update the packrat and all will be well again.

I'm actually going to do a little work on it this weekend after I get done with taxes. (yeah yeah, I'm pushing it for taxes. but I've been busy... honest.) Probably won't have anything up and running until the end of April, but I /will/ work on it. (A second person finally donated to The Configurator so I promised I'd update TC/PR for Astra LOL.)

WOOHOO! I hope they'll look great on Astra... Plus, I can't wait for the e-mail notifier icons to be running as well. %-)

Kid actuall said you will be able to change icon sets from the preferences with Astra. So nothing fancy will be needed.
