[Bug 3199] Connection Issues With Yahoo

I hope I am posting this where it needs to be.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION

Yahoo will not connect when trillian starts up: I have tried to delete the yahoo.ini as Diamond suggested and it worked but when i restarted Trillian yahoo would not connect. I then go to the connections window and the yahoo connections are there but the red dot is not lighted up. When i try to click on connect it does nothing.

In the preferences connections it says for yahoo "Never connected to this account"

Hi,

I think i fixed the problem but i want to be sure. If you had an older version of Trillian on your PC and your Astra was running could that prevent some connections not to work. Because I found the 3.1.7 version and took it off my pc and now yahoo is working. I know i answered my own question but I just want to be sure that might have been it.

I'm having the same problem with my Yahoo account, but when I check my Add/Remove Programs there's just one Trillian. Does Trillian Astra show up as "Trillian" in the Add/Remove Programs list?

Yes it does show up as Trillian. I had the other version i might have gotten the version number wrong though but you can find it on the trillian home site.

ok thanks, Pneumatic. I see it's unresolved now. This is my first time using Bugzilla and I was having a hard time searching for that problem. One thing I'm curious about with Bugzilla; when I use the link to it that I received in the alpha invite email and I log in there does that mean I'm only in a Trillian Astra section of Bugzilla? Or am I searching ALL of Bugzilla?

tt, what I was wondering in the question about Trillian versions is; How did you find out you had the 3.1.7 still installed? Where did you come across that, in the Add/Remove Programs or in the Trillian directory? I'm wondering if I have the same problem as I didn't un-install Trillian Pro before installing Astra -- didn't say to do it in the email, just to back up current install.

The link to Bugzilla is only our Bugzilla and it's only there to support Astra.

You can click "Help" at the top of the buddy list and then click "About" to see your version of Trillian.

You can right click the Trillian icon next to the clock and then click "About Trillian".
