I see you are using the default Cordonata skin with transparency ... I take it this means you have "alpha blending" turned on in the skin settings?

Also do you have the current version of Flash Player 9 installed in Internet Explorer?

It might indeed be a bug, but both of these things are required for it to work and would be worth checking first.

Yes, Flash 9 is working fine, but even without, Trillian should not crash. An alert or something similar should open with a small information, that Flash 9 is needed. Transparency means "alpha blending" and is turned on.

I just wanted to make sure, and yes you are right they should make it notify users that they need flash 9, but for now it will result in crashes. And there are other forms of transparency in Trillian as well, so I just was making sure of that as well.

Sounds like it is indeed a bug.

I get the same problem. I've tried it on 2 different machines and cannot get into the Profile editor from either the buton on the contact list or from inside the preferences. I also get an error loging into the online profile at www.trillianastra.com with "Error #272 during server poll.". Not sure if they're related. Both computers are running Windows XP SP2, have latest Flash player and latest Trillian Build ver .60 using default options for apperance/skin.

I have the same bug as well with version .60.

Additionally, I have completely uninstalled all the Astra files and registry entries. Downloaded the newest installer and reinstalled. Same issue. I am running Flash 9.0.47.0 and I have "alpha blending" turned on.

My PC setup is:

Windows XP Pro SP2
Intel Core 2 (6320) @ 1.87GHz
1GB RAM.

When I click the "Edit Profiles" link, my CPU shoots to between 39% - as high at 55% for trillian.exe alone. It is using somewhere in the neighborhood of 22MB of RAM as well.

Several people reported this in bug 4047 (http://bugs.ceruleanstudios.com/show_bug.cgi?id=4047).

I personally don't experience this bug though. Probably a good idea to discuss it more to pinpoint what people who get this crash have in common. I see Vista Ultimate, XP SP2, 2003 Server SP1. I wonder if people are installing Flash for IE7, IE6, or Flash plugin for Mozilla browsers?
