Okay, I'm just vaguely interested. Not to say I would skin, but not to say I wouldn't.
What would I do to actually do skins?

get an idea, shape a window or 2, think of which icontrols you want to slap on it, design a couple to get the ida, then start to code.. take it from there

Agreeing with DN...... just design a window, make it just the way you want it, and throw a few icontrols in there. Redesigning the window at the same time can be difficult sometimes. But sometimes necessary.
From my personal experience, it's better to just start a whole new sin rather than change graphics on another one.
I tried changing some graphics of my OWN homemade skin Nocturnal... and it didn't work out very well.

Throwing in my $.02, skinning is not as easy as it may appear. The initial startup can be confusing and frustrating. However, the more you do the easier it gets (like riding a bike). Fortunately, the skinners that frequent the site are EXTREMELY helpful and always willing to lend a hand.

I can understand the part of making my design, with original features (duh, that's why I would make a skin ;)), but what about the coding? Any ideas?
