for some odd reason whenever you send "O.o" into myspace im on trillian astra the other person receives it as " " or 3 spaces.

This is actually related to the instant lookup (wikipedia) support. It has been posted into bugzilla and we will look into it in the future. For now, if you wish to see the emoticon, you can disable this within preferences. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks for the report.
