Facebook/Myspace chat and Chat window help

2 problems I can't seem to fix. I just installed Astra after using Trillian for a couple years.

One problem is that I can't log into or see my contacts for Facebook or Myspace. For Facebook, I type in the info, enable chat and all that, but when I click on my Facebook icon thing at the bottom, Offline is checked, and whenever I click Online, nothing happens, and if I check again, it still says Offline. For Myspace, I have no idea how to get that working, so a tutorial would be helpful.

My other request/problem is to ask if there is any way to remove the User Info/Chat/Send File/ etc bar t the bottom of the chat window. Thanks in advanced for any help, and I hope to be using this for a long time :D

First ...

Facebook... click "show status window" and see if you are getting an error when you set Facebook chat online. Did you make sure to also fill out your email and password a 2nd time specifically in the chat portion of the facebook preferences?

Myspace is easy, just add your email address you use for myspace and your password. That is it, your MySpace IM contacts will be pulled in automatically.

Now I have a weird problem. On my laptop, I get a message saying:

Facebook Chat: Couldn't log in! If you made sure that your login credentials are correct, Facebook may have changed something that causes Chat functionality to stop working for now.

But on my desktop, the chat works and I can see my contacts, and with my Myspace info i, my contacts don't show up in the list.


Also, what about the bar on the bottom of the message window, any way to get rid of that?

There is no way to currently remove the bar at the bottom of the window from that skin, but you can try some of the other skins Trillian uses (there is a skin called 'cobalt' included in the product that can be turned into minimal mode (click on advanced in skins) if you wish to really remove everything).

Regarding the facebook chat issue, have you tried re-entering in your info to see if that fixes it?

Got Facebook working, just reentered the info :D. It says I'm signed into Myspace, but I can't see a contacts list or anything.

That really sucks about the skin. I think it'd be alot nicer if that was all at the top as icon, like sound and format. Gonna go post it in the suggestions forums :D.
