Is anyone else having this problem? I can still send IMs, but I only receive them on the iPhone.

Also, for some reason my Astra and Yahoo accounts disconnect on my desktop when they're connected on my iPhone.

Are you a Trillian Astra Pro user?

What IM services are you experiencing this problem with?

I'm having the problem with AIM.

I don't have Pro, but I didn't know you needed it to use the iPhone app.

You do not need pro to use the iPhone version. From what i understand the Astra account can only be connected at 1 place when you are not a Pro member.

However this should not affect AIM I do not think. How are you testing receiving Messages?

Yahoo doesn't support multiple signins, at least not in my experience. Also they are right above, Astra without pro can only be signed in for 1 device at a time.

I had my husband IM me. I'm getting his messages on my phone but not on my desktop. Both appear to be connected to my AIM account though, since I can send messages via both clients.

When you sign off from the iPhone client, do messages return to being sent to your Desktop?

Do you have one of them set to away status? I know that away can mess up the delivery with multiple signons with AIM.

Yes. But that requires me to remember to sign off on my iPhone when I'm at my desk.

OK, yeah, it was because I was "away" on my desktop. Wow, what a PITA.

Glad to see we found the problem, Blame AIM, haha :P

It is a blessing and a curse. This means that half of an IM session wont show up on your screen when you are away from your desk and using your iPhone. But it does mean you have to remember to take your Desktop off of away mode.

Or set the iPhone version to go to away mode when you close the App. (You do this from the Settings App on the home screen) I believe that Setting this away, actually sets the device to Extended away, which means your Desktop's 'Away' status will have a higher delivery preference than the iPhone.

Edit: On an unrelated note... Woo 200 posts! :D Sorry, had to do it.

Yeah, I'm actually just setting both my systems to "online" and never going into away mode. I always have my phone on me anyways, so I guess I'm never really away.

It would be nice if all my conversations always showed up at each of the clients I was connected from.

Well as far as AIM goes, that would require you to request that feature from AOL at www.aim.com. If your Husband was to use Astra as well, you guys could talk on just the Astra network and not even utilize AIM and you would have some more options, but being signed on the Phone and the Desktop on Astra at the same time would require a Pro account (but it is sooooo worth it).

Yes, but why would one be friends with someone who uses a mac? *gasp* ... don't worry, soon enough it will include *those* friends too, haha.
