I don't mean to be a pest... But it's been almost 2 months since the last Mac build... It makes me kind of jealous when I see a new Windows build every week... :(

Rachel has been on 106 for a while, so perhaps it is nearing a release. I think at this stage of the OSX platform, it is still getting a lot of new features so they are bigger more infrequent releases.
Rachel has adapted a sort of "don't talk about what I'm doing on the forums" policy because she works on iPhone and OSX and when she talks about one, people b*tch she isn't working on the other.
The frequent Windows build releases are just bug fixes mostly now.

Ohh. So is there any news on what will be included on Build 106?

No. They will post the features in their blog when build 106 is ready.

Hopefully that will be soon. I would love to stop using Adium.

Why don't you use build 105???

It just has too many bugs right now for me to use it all the time. Once some of these bugs are gone (and hopefully A/V support) I'll start using it.

I find build 105 stable enough. I don't use something else anymore. There can be done more, but all the extra stuff isn't needed to do the basic conversations between two persons.
Only remarks are:
-Starting Trillian behind a proxy doesn't work (http://bugs.ceruleanstudios.com/show_bug.cgi?id=10997), so I can't use it at school...
-Sometimes a sent file doesn't transfer correctly, but I don't know why...
For alpha software, (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) !

Well you most likely have a different kind of Mac than me. Last time I used it people weren't getting my messages and I couldn't send files at all. I know CS will be able to fix this eventually but right now I'm going to stick with iChat.

I think it would be cool to get an update every week (like other alphas :-p ) - we could decide to update to this (maybe) buggy version or wait for the next stable version.
I think this update-politic would be much better, then wait a few weeks up to month for an alpha(!)-update ;)
Look at OmniGroup - if the have an alpha/beta, they will update every day/twice a day and if the user use this beta, he/she has to live with some bugs - but I think it's ok (they where never a real big bug in the betas).
Think about it Rachel ;) You would make us so happy and it would be very useful for you to get feedback for every update, if there is a bug in it!

Honestly, even if I were doing daily releases, 106 would have had a longer gap because I had to rework a couple of core chunks of the program to support something we added. I mean here that I literally had to remove/disable a couple of things while I was rewriting them; functionality that was in 105 was /not/ in the initial builds of 106, while I retooled it.
I know that if I had released an interim build -- even with bugfixes -- that also disabled functionality I was reworking, people would've complained that it wasn't ready and 'why did you take that out?!' and so on.
Keep in mind this is an /alpha/. Not a beta. Many companies don't even let alphas out into the wild; they only start letting people use the beta. (A beta is generally closer to feature-complete and you're in bugfix stage.) I do hope that once we're into the beta/bugfix-only stage, yes, I'll roll out quicker ones. But during the alpha phase, I'll roll them out when new functionality is ready and stable enough in initial testing for folks to start banging on.

I didn't meant that in a bad way ;) It was just a suggestion :)

Well maybe iPhone 1.2.1.1 and 1.3.0.0 have something to do with the delay? :P Ut oh, now people are going to get mad!

No - I don't think that there are 'big new features' in the upcoming release. I think the problem is, that there is just one person who needs to develope two apps (Mac & iPhone-Version) and (maybe I'm wrong) I think developing for Apple-platforms is new for this person and it's not the persons fulltime/payed job - it's more a freetime-project.
So this is the reason why all updates delays so much.
This words are not meant bad, it's just the way it is (IMO!)
We all hope that there's an update for Mac soon, because it's over two month ago (and I think it would be no problem to give us an update every week - we know that an alpha is/could be buggy ^^) - but it is Rachels choice - so don't bother her and wait and let hope that not so much (Mac-)people leave the Trillian-Community ;-p

Rachel is an employee of Cerulean Studios.
So it is her fulltime job to develope Trillian Mac/iPhone? If yes, it's very bad, to be so slow :-p
But never forget: Without Rachel you all wouldn't have Trillian iPhone & Mac ;)
so don't bother her and wait and let hope that not so much (Mac-)people leave the Trillian-Community ;-p
With people who constantly bites the hand that feeds, people will leave the community. Seriously, why bother typing a post with such a horrible snide attitude when you've already said not to bother her? You've already made a whole thread dedicated to your impatience, so please stop this nonsense and don't spread this to every single thread. It's already stressful enough for Rachel and the team to hear 1000 requests, so there's no point to repeat and amplify it 1000 even more times. Developers are not your slaves, and repeating your concerns 60 billion more times with your tongue sticking out won't mean you will get heard any better. It's only more annoying. We value everyone's constructive comments and it's unfair for others if your voice is too loud.

I just want a working history for my convos on my Mac because if I ever get IMed by a business contact while on my Mac, I have to switch computers if I want the convo saved. That's all I really care about.

@kid: No I don't bother anyone - I think it's ok to say it loud, that CS are slow - that's no secret. I can understand the reasons, why they are slow and I think they know that they are slow - so if I would want to bother anyone, I wouldn't do that here in a forum :D
@kashew: this will come, but not in the next 2-3 alpha-releases. Do it like the way I do:
Go to this folder:
YourUserFolder -> Library -> Application Support -> Trillian -> YourAstraName
In this folder you'll find a folder called 'logs' drag this folder to your desktop and hold down ALT + CMD at the same time. You'll see a little arrow on your folder while you drag it (if not, drag it back to the folder and repeat it).
Now you've got an alias for your folder. You can rename it to something like 'Trillian Logs'.
In this folder you'll find the history for every contact in your list.
In the .log and .xml are the same stuff - it's a choice of your software!
I prefer to open the .log-files with a double click on it (you've to install a textviewer like Smuletron (discontinued):

You realize Kid is an employee at Cerulean Studios right? You basically just called him and his coworkers slow..
Take his advice, just stop before you get yourself into trouble

I mean as paying customers, everyone gets their 2 cents. CS should be happy they have people clamoring for it.

CS is reading every comment.
I think they appreciate the comments, but when it is about CS like SunsetBoy did, or about people personally, it isn't pleasant anymore.

I didn't want to be 'bad' or something like this. If I wouldn't like CS or Trillian, I didn't bought a lot of Pro-License for my friends and me ;)
it was just what I think and I'm sorry if I bother anyone or if I did anything like that!
And yes, maybe it is better to close this topic.

While I agree with you, I have to correct you out of spite.
Kid actually joined CS a couple years after it started and is an employee of CS, not the "owner". Scott and Kevin are the founders. :)

Corrected in the original post. I knew that, but apparently there is a problem existing between brain and hands.

This thread is great because 106 just was released.
This thread is great because 106 just was released.
It has nothing to do with the thread. It's because we just released Trillian for iPhone 1.2.
Yes, let's end this discussion. There's no need to strain Rachel in the forums. She is one of our rare developers who like to come to the forum and get feedbacks. Thanks for understanding.

I know the changelist wasn't terribly encouraging since it was so short, but 106 was primarily under-the-hood reworking to allow the new contactlist views and new top-area (and the ability to collapse it like a toolbar). A lot of the contactlist was rewritten, so hopefully people find it faster/smoother. (There's actually more lines-of-code changed between 105 and 106 than there were between 104 and 105.)
There's also a bunch of stuff that isn't exposed yet, but this was the best time to add it when reworking things. For instance, now the conversation windows are coded to allow me to add panels into a conversation, a'la the panels of the Win32 version. Right now, that's not terribly useful, but down the road it'll allow me to do the sort of panels we use in AV chats. :)
