F-List is an wonderful platform for all chat roleplayers and for everyone, maybe the biggest one on the net

They have his own chat-system but they also allow also 3rd-party-clients for connections since some moths
Since then they added an api to the page with all details about the F-Chat protocol --> http://wiki.f-list.net/index.php/FChat_Protocol (new link)

and someone already made an plugin for Pidgin --> http://code.google.com/p/flist-pidgin/downloads/list ( source )


So i was just wondering if someone are also interested in such a plugin for Trillian

F-list has over 10000 users and I'm one of them. I'm sure a large number of people would pick up Trillian if it had robust support for the chat system.

I'd be interested in working on this if I could get someone to lend me a hand. I need someone to help me get started with the Trillian API. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread!

Yes F-List is quite big and the F-Chat really rocks under Pidgin
I also seen that they made a own F-Chat client which is open source but i am not sure where to get to source

F-list may be great for those that use it....

But 10,000 users is a drop in the ocean compared to millions of linux users screaming for a native version and the billions of MSN/Yahoo/Gtalk/Skype users.
So to claim F-List is "quite big" is a bit of a misnomer to say the least. That sort of number wouldn't even be more than the inhabitants in the suburbs of the little town where I live - it's a pitifully small number.

It certainly wouldn't be practical or financially viable for CS to undertake any such plugin.

Kudos to anyone that wants to write one; I'm sure many will use it.

I agree, things like Xfire should be done before such a small community.

Well murr-ello there! I've taken an interest in this idea, and think it will be a fantastic mini-project to flex my Trillian plugin muscles before I take on Second Life. I think the challenge will be incorporating all the F-Chat specific features, like mini-profiles and RP ads.
