Simultaneous logins on both desktop and phone
Simultaneous logins on both desktop and phone

Aim and Google Talk work.
ICQ and Yahoo only let me be logged in one place at a time.

Will this need to be addressed by ICQ and Yahoo or will this eventually be working with some magic by Trillian coders? Or perhaps there's a setting I'm missing somewhere?

Thanks!

ICQ and Yahoo have to support it before it will ever work. There are several threads on this very topic just from this week!

The good news is Yahoo is adding it right now with their newest beta of their client, so hopefully Trillian can get it working for Yahoo as well.

ICQ likely will never add it as it is just a tax write off being sold from company to company and not getting new features.

A Trillian server could login for you and just forward your ICQ messages.. that would be possible

Not possible with the way the desktop clients are setup to connect directly to ICQ, and people would not prefer those connections be proxied.

Then use AIM to communicate to your ICQ contact friends instead and the problem is already solved.

Most people don't want their conversations all going through CS' servers.

That still works since ICQ was sold to the Russians a while back?

I would also have no issue, not to mention, if i had the option to Proxy or not to Proxy, then the problem would be ultimately solved!

not to mention, is that not how it works right now with the mobile client?

Yes that is how it works but it limits what you can do. Things like A/V could not be supported (not that they are or that ICQ has it really anyways) but I can't think immediately of things that wouldn't work as well.

Like I said, give us the option, a check box , a big warning, I would be for it on most cases, but would like to ability to have an option. as like you said, its already being done in some respects.

After reading your other posts... is it just ICQ you are having this problem for? Your other posts make it sound like your Trillian account does not connect...

haha. sorry.. jumping around.

let me give you a senerio.

I am logged into my phone, then i log into my tablet. 10 min later, I want to finish the conversation on my phone, and I see the message.

so in otherwords, when I am logged into one device the other one WILL get the error message no matter what and inharently be logged out/dissconnected from the Trillian servers.
