Hahaha - Snowhite and the Seven Dwarfs - The REAL story!
GRRR!

Ever since I've decided my email is for all to contact me (skins/forum/etc) I have an increase in the 'Hahaha - Snowhite and the Seven Dwarfs - The REAL story!' virus being emailed to me.

Doesn't anyone check their system for viruses?

This worm sends the hahaha to ppl on your email contact list.

~

I do regular scans and know I haven't got this virus on my system, do you?

I recommend checking.

Visit this site for more information. It's not a porn site, it's been registered to help you learn more about it.

The email is sent from your computer, then the address is altered when it gets to the victims computer, it's changed to @sexyfun.net so ppl think it comes from they sexyfun.net site.

If you ever get this email, don't run the attached file. As a rule, don't run any .exe files etc that are sent to you, expecially from ppl from ppl you don't know.

Heh, I tried that too, but it comes in other languages.

Sigh, I just wish ppl who added me spent the time to check their own system.

Hell, if I had a virus on my system I couldn't get rid of, it'd be time for formatting and fdisking etc.

hmm.. never seen it in a different language.

a friend of mine actually ran the attachment, and ended up with a big spinning spiral shape on his screen... it wouldn't go away.... made the computer impossible to use..

SirCam was a fun one too

Stuff like this always irritates me. Especially when my parents, for example, are one day saying that they can't believe all the stupid people who open up these attatchments, even when warned not to, and spread the virus further... and then the next day they're calling me in wondering why the document they got from a friend, "read this.doc.pif", won't open in Word.

Arg.

Lightbulb "I opened a virus by accident"
Translation: I opened a virus like you told me not to.

These two little lines were part of a major computer manufacturer's print advertising campaign. I thought it was so funny -- and so true -- that I cut it out, laminated it, and tacked it on my bulletin board at the office.

Edit: Fixed typo.

Yes, I have gotten called to a few houses to fix their computers because of these viruses that autolaunch in OE. The best way to avoid it: Use a third party email program, or NS messenger.

One suggestion may be to use a web based e-mail account like hotmail for your trillian messages. One advantage is that they scan the attachments that are sent to you for virus files.
I would not suggest using this for anything secure, but at least it is an option.

Thank god I use "the Bat!" as my email client. Much more secure than mongosoft Outlook.
