Post Troll's MSN Messenger 7 Emoticon Pack
I've taken all the default emoticons for MSN and decided to make a pack, using the correct syntax for 99% of them (A couple such as the dog and party hat emoticons didnt make trillian too happy). Previous MSN emoticon sets didn't contain all of the images, especially the animated ones, and had the wrong syntax.

I will note that these are ONLY emoicons for MSN and offer no Trillian, Yahoo, AIM, etc...emoticons although some MSN emoticon syntax may crossover into the other formats.

If you have any problems or find that I've left out an MSN emoticon, please let me know and I'll attempt to fix it.

To use the emoticon set, please extract the file to your Trillian\Stixe\Plugins directory. An MSN directory should then be present and you can change the emoticon set accordingly. I tested this on the latest version of Trillian 3 as of April 20, 2005.

Here is a preview:

use:
& instead of &
% instead of %
> instead of >
< instead of <

then you should be able to get all the emoticons to work
btw: stevo has released a similar set. i think it's 100%

Thanks! I'll fix that and use the appropriate tags.

EDIT:

When trying to fix the appropriate tags, using that "fixes" the emoticon syntax, but won't allow the syntax to be typed in for the party hat emoticon, only to be clicked on, showing the correct syntax in a mouse over.

The party hat emoticon uses the syntax <:o) so I therefore changed this to accomadate the < to <:o)

However, although there are no errors when starting Trillian, if you try to send the emoticon to someone, either by manually typing the syntax or by clicking on the icon, it sends the following to the message recepient:

Quote:
<p:1.0:niks:"%3C%3A%6F%29":"%3C%3A%6F%29"
Apologies if this is the wrong place to discuss this.

Just Joe user emoticons
I have noticed if I use the trillian emoticons and the other person is using say yahoo, they do not translate well, but my one concern is What are they, they seem to be too small for me to see (and others) what the heck they are. Anyway to enlarge them before sending? Yes some if you hover will discribe what they are but alot do not.
any suggestions. And putting in new code is to me like giving a fish a bicycle so ..its a duh on my part. lol

you should use my 8.0 version of WLM Emot Set and if you want the native emots for each medium you should try my MCP Emot Set .

I agree... Plus you can add Gmail contacts, too! But it might be possibly lagging my PC... Not sure.
