Astra Tester Signups (THIS THREAD IS *NOT* FOR SIGNING UP! READ FIRST POST OF THREAD)
There is a link at the bottom of www.trillianastra.com to sign up to be a tester. Use that link rather than PM'ing, IM'ing, and emailing the request.

Emailing, sending tickets, private messaging a mod, begging in the comments of the blog, and any other form of requesting to be on the team will do no good. Only one person has the power and the only way he accepts the information is through the link referenced above.

Good luck!

Pneu,

Is it safe to assume that if you've submitted some sort of alpha tester form in the past, you don't need to re-apply?

This would cover:

1) The original 50 e-mail submissions Scott covered in the blog.
2) The other web form that was previously deployed on the blog.
3) This covers NO OTHER ALPHA TEST SUBMISSION.

Yeah, many people have already submitted applications before as McBean said. Of course, I wouldn't want to miss out but I also don't want to submit redundant information that will create unnecessary work for you guys

If you have submitted your information in the past it is on file. You don't need to submit it again.

Was fairly busy last few months on project, just submit mine through the blog post link, hope it's not too late

Is it strictly a FIFO process picking up the testers?

Just out of curiosity, how many people signed up to be a tester?

There are a LOT of people signed up.

This round has to be closed. The reason for the very slow roll-out is that they are having to keep an eye on the servers with an ever increasing load. It wouldn't be wise to just slam thousands of users onto an untested system.

If you didn't make it in this time, don't despair. The next round will be very soon. Hopefully things will be moving fairly quickly from here on out.

hopefully i will be in the next round of testers, and hopefully it will be soon. it's getting really annoying every time i load trillian 3 it turns off the aero interface for vista and puts it on the ugly vista standard.

i'm assuming this doesn't happen with astra?

Ahh, I just bought a pro account for Astra, looks very hot

eCheques suck though, so it'll be a while until I can see it in action

Having a pro account doesn't automatically get you in.

Seriously, there needs to be more like previews and stuff of what it does... the (not so) sneak preview is getting a little long in the tooth.

There are a bunch of posts from people who are sharing their Astra experiences. The sneak peak probably isn't going to evolve beyond that. What would you like to know? If you've read through the posts and have questions, feel free to ask.

Yes I would love to know how many testers (give or take 20-50 people) there are to get an idea of how far back in line i am. Also, will the next round include more than 50?

*If you have time to answer: I bought Pro (and am currently using it) back in October of 2004. Why don't I have the little logo by my posts? Is it because my email when i signed up with forums is different than my member email for cerulean studios?

I would say so, because it's probably the only way to link them together.

The little icon for having Pro is a choice.
You can get it from your personal space where you went to download Trillian and to pay, etc. There is an option to get the icon there.

@Pneumatic,

Yesterday I heard that one of the Dutch translators has already Astra up and running. Do not know if Sjoerd Job already has it, but else he and me would like to have an account.
As you know we are the Dutch translation team, and we can not wait to start translating again. ;-) and testing ofcourse.

I already signed up on the page. I signed up with Geeforce as my nick.

Can you please give us access?

Thanks,
Johan

[EDIT] DAMN just heard that things are already translated. A new way of doing that. Well good for CS, but dissapointment for me.
But Hey I still wanna help you guys testing CS. Running Trilling about 10 hrs a day... So PLEASE..[/EDIT]

At the risk of sounding silly, I'm assuming it'll be vista compatible?
